Battery For 2014 Honda Odyssey Key Fob

So in this article, we are going to show you how to change the smart Honda Odyssey Key Fob Battery. This is from years 2014 to present uses the Smart key and this is a really easy key Fob battery to change. So if we flip it over, look on the back guide, there’s a little knob here. We can pull that knob to release the internal valet key.

Now with the valet key, we can use this. We put it right in the middle between these two pieces of the fob itself and just give it a little twist kind of each way and that will be able to pry these two pieces once you get them kind of popped off.

We have to get a little bit of a more leverage sometimes. But this key fob, once you have it going, you’re not going to break anything on this one. Okay. So we’ve got that going out.

So this pops into two pieces and then the internal key battery that you need for the Odyssey is the CR 2032, the 3 volt coin battery. We can go ahead and just take your value on the left side here and pop that battery right out. Put a new one in. Make sure if you see these two longer teeth on the right to put the coin battery underneath those first, it’ll slide right in really easily. Save you some frustration.

So let’s get a new battery in there to take the other side of the key, snap that back together like so and go ahead and put your valet key back in. That’s it. That’s how you change the key battery on the Honda

Dead Honda Odyssey Key Fob Battery Replacement (2005 – 2010) – Physical Key Rounded Buttons

Alright. So in this part, we’re going to show you how to change the Honda Odyssey key battery. So if you’ve got an older model from 2005 to 2010, you may have this key Fob. So to change this, go ahead and flip it over. You’ll see in the back there’s a small screw, and once we get this off, everything goes fairly quickly. There’s just a number of steps. So we’ll walk you through those, but first and this can be difficult to get this screwed up the first time.

Once we’ve got that off, now we’ll need to grab our, we would say the largest of the flathead screwdrivers, and you can see right at the base here, there’s a little bit of a notch right at the middle midline. If you go ahead and put your Phillips screwdriver in there and then just twist a little bit, you’ll be able to pop off the shell of this Fob. Then once we’ve got that off, we can just pull out the internal section and set aside the case. So here, there’s another notch in the upper right here.

You can see there. So we’re going to do the same thing as just put in our Phillips screwdriver and just twist, and this will be able to separate the internal piece into two pieces and give us access to the battery that we need to change. Here we can just put our Phillips right underneath there and pop out the battery. You’ll see, this is a CR 1616 3 volt coin battery.

Changing this is pretty cheap. I’ll link to these on Amazon. Once you get a new one of these, just make sure the positive side is down and then this can just kind of pop back into place. There’s not really any big overhangs anywhere here. Once you pop that back into place, just reassemble the internal piece here, like so it kind of snaps back together.

You can kind of check, make sure the light is lighting up. If you’ve got a light on yours and go ahead and put it back into the outer shell case, and then when you’re reassembling this, there is a lip at the top. If you kind of line up the lip first, like so it will make getting this and snapped into place just a lot easier because there’s really nothing here at the base that holds anything together except for the little baby screw, which you can now screw back in and you’re done. So that’s how you change the battery.

The key battery in a Honda Odyssey from 2005 to 2010, and again, the battery that you need is a CR 1616. You can also read our article about each of the Honda Key Fob Battery model replacement guide here.
